The Tiszamenti Regionális Vízművek Zrt. is one of the most important public utility in the water industry in Hungary and the Northern Great Hungarian Plain region. In the last years, the Company’s area of operation extended six fold, which growth – even if at a slower rate – is continuous further on. Currently it is active in 205 settlements, where 590,990 customers are being provided with drinking water, while sewage water, produced by 262,272 customers, is being carried away, and safely placed after appropriate level of cleaning. The Company is currently present in six counties (Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, Hajdú-Bihar, Heves, Csongrád, Pest). Competent and dedicated colleagues are working to ensure that the vulnerable resource with limited availability–healthy drinking water–reach everybody unseen and natural.
The biggest change in the life of TRV Zrt. has been brought by the last year. In the beginning of 2013 it was able to take over the operation of the drinking and sewage water networks in 162 settlements, while in 16th July and in 6th November another local government has joined to their area of service. Together with the changes, the growth of the number of employees was also significant; three years ago the headcount of the employees was only 248, while today this number reaches 1,040. Due to this, the Company became one of the biggest employers of the region. They are proud of that in the process of the selection of new employees it was an important aspect that the experts who are already working in the water industry in the specific settlements should be accepted, which helps to create and conserve jobs and to secure the safety of the service in these specific settlements.
In our country the questions regarding the water industry gain more and more attention since the accession to the European Union. Essential points of these questions are the protection of the water bases–especially in case of vulnerable water sources–, the quality and quantity of drinking water supply pursuant to the public health standards, the drainage, the purification, and the safe placement of the generated sewage water, together with the reorganization and regularization of the organizational structure.
Gábor Hajdú, the CEO of Tiszamenti Regionális Vízművek Zrt. said: “Our long-term goals include that the Company, as a significant water utility service provider in the Central and North-Eastern region of Hungary, becomes a member of the small circle of providers, who are able to safely provide high quality drinking, sewage and agricultural water services in these specific areas.”
